El objetivo de ambas iniciativas es el de favorecer un espacio en la Red abierto al diálogo, a la denuncia de situaciones de injusticia y que permita visibilizar los avances en materia de igualdad de género. La inclusión del proyecto en las redes sociales permite que las reivindicaciones de la campaña lleguen a más personas y la gente se reúna y tenga un espacio para el debate.

Cuidadela, Politicalia, Tratalata y Realtilla son las cuatro "Igualias"; unas pequeñas criaturas que solo toman forma si están bien nutridas y que se alimentan de corresponsabilidad y valoración de los cuidados, participación política de las mujeres, cumplimiento de los tratados internacionales y de igualdad real entre hombres y mujeres respectivamente. De momento, "Las Igualias" están débiles como resultado de la vulneración de los derechos de muchas mujeres y esta campaña quiere que reciban todo lo que necesitan para estar sanas y fuertes. El blog y el grupo de Facebook tienen como objetivo alimentar cada vez más a Las Igualias, con la participación y la adhesión de gente de todo el mundo.

Entreculturas trabaja para hacer que la vuelta al cole sea una realidad en el mayor número de países posible. Para impulsar esta labor, acaba de lanzar una campaña con la que pretende demostrar que "volver al cole puede costar muy poco". Sólo un pequeño gesto más junto a los que ya realizan las familias españolas para garantizar el acceso a la escuela de sus propios hijos e hijas.

El difícil contexto de un campo de refugiados, la escasa prioridad que se concede a la educación en los barrios urbano-marginales, la falta de profesores formados y motivados y la ausencia de infraestructuras escolares o materiales didácticos de calidad son algunas de las principales limitaciones que obstaculizan el derecho de muchos niños y niñas del mundo a acceder a una buena educación. Entreculturas considera que esta situación es injusta ya que todas las personas merecen las mismas oportunidades. Por eso apela con esta campaña a la capacidad de todas y todos los ciudadanos de intervenir para revertir esta realidad.

"Toda la comunidad ha participado en la preparación de la inauguración del centro. Llevan semanas despejando el terreno de hierbas y arbustos y preparando bailes y canciones", comenta Alistair Davies, técnico de Entreculturas en Sur Sudán.

El secreto del aprendizaje es el deseo de aprender. Cada uno lo tiene a su manera. El regalo mayor que nos pueden hacer es sembrar en nosotros el deseo de aprender. Más que los conocimientos aprendidos es esta pasión por conocer, por comprender, por transformar, que nos guiará toda la vida en la aventura de descubrir y crear novedad.

Nuestra labor en Fe y Alegría tiene que ser despertar el entusiasmo por el oficio de aprender. Y mientras más noble la motivación, mejores serán los resultados del aprendizaje. El deseo de conocer, de comprender, de crecer, de crear, de transformar, de mejorar, de compartir va aumentado el valor de aprender. Este deseo nos constituye en estado permanente de aprendizaje. Es una manera de ser que no se conforma nunca con lo logrado, que no se desanima ante dificultades o limitaciones. Es una manera de ser, una actitud ante la vida, que se aprende y se cultiva. Para el aprendizaje es importante la disciplina. Pero mucho más la motivación, el deseo.

Dona tu Móvil es una iniciativa con fines solidarios y ecológicos que promueve el reciclaje de teléfonos antiguos de un modo respetuoso con el medio ambiente y facilita la reutilización de aquellos que aún se pueden recuperar. Además, los fondos obtenidos con la venta de estos últimos se destinan a la puesta en marcha de proyectos humanitarios y de desarrollo por parte de ambas organizaciones. En el caso de Entreculturas, el dinero se invierte en la escolarización de niños y niñas de los países más empobrecidos de África y América Latina.

Con motivo del Día Internacional de la Alfabetización, 8 de septiembre, el Servicio Jesuita a Refugiados/ África Oriental (JRS EA) advierte sobre la importancia de la educación en el Sur de Sudán y alienta a su gobierno a destinar recursos suficientes para mantener y mejorar los resultados conseguidos hasta la fecha. El JRS EA también apremia a los donantes y a la comunidad internacional a ofrecer la asistencia necesaria.

"La educación es la llave del desarrollo. Ésta aumenta la dignidad humana, ayudando a las personas a alcanzar todo su potencial, mejorar su calidad de vida y convertirse en ciudadanos políticamente maduros. Estas son cualidades muy necesarias para que el Sur de Sudán tenga un futuro estable. El gobierno sursudanés, la comunidad internacional y las agencias de ayuda tienen que unirse para que esta sea una realidad para el pueblo del Sur de Sudán", dijo el director del JRS EA, P. Frido Pflueger SJ.

The difficult context of a refugee camp, the scarce priority given to education in marginal urban areas, the lack of motivated and trained teachers and the lack of school structures and quality materials are some of the main limitations that stop children from their right to a quality education. Entreculturas considers this situation unfair since all people deserve the same opportunities. This is why, with this campaign, we appeal to the capacity of everyone to participate in order to reverse this reality.

Thanks to the support of Inditex, the Jesuit Refugee Service, main partner of Entreculturas in Africa, has been able to build this school which will contribute to improve the quality education of the children Lobone.

Our task in Fe y Alegría must be to awaken enthusiasm for the skill of learning. The desire to know, to understand, to grow, to create, to transform, to improve, to share, increases the value of learning. It is a way of being that is never satisfied with the accomplished, never put back by difficulties or limitations. It is a way of being, an attitude towards life that is learnt and practiced. Discipline is important for learning but even more so is motivation and desire.

We say that we live in a society of "knowledge". The speed and depth of changes are such that we have to live in continuous learning, in continuous novelty creation. We don't want to be only consumers of what has been created by others. Today development also means to learn and to innovate.

In Fe y Alegría we say that we learn in the length and width of life. That means that we don't look at our life as divided in phases and that we learn in one or several of them. Life is a process in which we learn since we are born until the day we die, not only in the school years but in the width of our life. To live is to learn continually.

Therefore the phases of life cannot be regarded as separate but as part of a process of the whole human life. The main subject is the person who learns and whose objective us to live fully. Each education phase is a moment of this process, so we therefore never stop learning, we are never alumni. We have to change the concept of ex-students for colleagues in a new phase of learning. Offer our learning services throughout life. Create learning communities in which we can participate or enter in all phases of our life.

Chincha was one of the cities of the department of Ica most damaged by the earthquake. After the disaster, Entreculturas reacted immediately so that the children could attend school as soon as possible in order to go back to normal life and assume what had happened. Through Fe y Alegría and the Jesuit Development Office, the main partners of Entreculturas in Peru, provisional straw and wooden classrooms were set up, waiting for the reconstruction of schools.

A year later in 2008, almost 1.200 children of the area of Pueblo Nuevo (Chincha), were able to go back to school. It was the first Fe y Alegría reconstructed school. Now in 2009, school number 21567 "Tupac Amaru" has been inaugurated, also in the province of Chincha, where more than 350 children and youth will have the opportunity to have new and better facilities.

The aim of these two initiatives is to encourage an open dialogue space in the Net, to discuss the situations of injustice and to put forth the progress on issues like gender equality. The inclusion of the project in social networks allows the campaign to reach more people and a space for debate.

At present more than 1.400 people have joined the group "Somos Las Igualias" in Facebook and almost 2.600 people have entered their blog. The interest is also shown in the great number of commentaries supporting both initiatives.

The campaign Move for equality. It's fair, promoted by Ayuda en Acción, Entreculturas and InteRed, has as its main objective to demand the need to comply with the international agreements signed by our governments, focusing on the commitments of the agreements of the Beijing Platform and the Millennium Goals and also to visualize women's situation and their fight to defend their rights. This platform considers that if we want to fight against the structural causes of poverty, we have to pay more attention to women and girls since they make up 70% of the impoverished population.

Donate your Mobile is an initiative with solidarity and environmental aims that promotes the recycling of old telephones, with respect for the environment, and facilitates the use of those who may still be put to use. The amounts obtained from the sales of these telephones are directed to humanitarian projects from both organizations. In the case of Entreculturas the money is used for schooling of the most needed children in Africa and Latin America.

This is the 5th year of the campaign, with the participation of more than 2.300 firms and institutions in 9.000 pick up places for the telephones throughout Spain. Among the main entities helping in the campaign are: The Postal Services, Adif, Accenture, Mapfre and BBVA. Up to now, The Postal Services is leading with 93.436 telephones, 31% of the total collected.

La Universidad de Alcalá ha organizado este año, entre sus Cursos de Verano, uno sobre "Los Objetivos de Desarrollo del Milenio: Una visión crítica y comprometida desde la Universidad". Los objetivos del curso estaban dirigidos a promover la solidaridad en la Universidad hacia los países y pueblos del Sur, informar sobre las relaciones Norte-Sur y el estado del mundo y formar a los estudiantes cooperantes.

Los ponentes que ofrecieron el curso fueron profesores de la UAH y de otras universidades, así como investigadores de informes y miembros de ONGs. Entre este último grupo, la organización contó con la participación de Alberto Medina, Responsable de Educación de la Delegación de Madrid. Alberto ofreció una visión crítica del Objetivo 2, Lograr la enseñanza primaria universal, que tiene como finalidad que en 2015, la infancia de cualquier parte, niños y niñas por igual, sean capaces de completar un ciclo completo de enseñanza primaria. Alberto presentó en ponencia, más sombras que luces, de un objetivo que, según opina, difícilmente se cumplirá para la fecha propuesta.
