Regarding the cooperation, the most relevant is the following:

• The total budget of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation goes from 2.646 million Euros in 2011 to 1.205 million Euros in 2012 what means a 54, 4% reduction. This is the department with the lowest budget.

• In regarding to the Official Help for Development:

• The transfers to Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) go from 834 million Euros in 2011 to 240 million Euros in 2012, a 71% reduction.
• The Water Funds and the Fonprode go from 1.095 million Euros in 2011 to 300 million Euros in 2012, a 72.6 % reduction

At the end of 2012 the percentage will be placed in 0.23 % of the RNB to the development cooperation, each time this data will be more far away from 0.7 %. The official Help for development is falling to levels of 2005.

"It is very bad news, but it is necessary to continue fighting and working for what we believe that it is just ", affirmed Valeria Méndez de Vigo, person in charge of the Department of Studies and Incident in Entreculturas.

After taking the possession of the new government, the budget of cooperation for development has been the most affected undoubtedly. The image of Spain is being damaged due to break international commitments. The General Budgets of the State should have reflected the commitment of the government with the rights of individuals. In a moment like this, the General Budgets should have faced the inequality firmly, in the national and international level, in direction of the action of this Government to the individual rights.

We repeat our commitment on fighting against the poverty and we will continue fighting in spite of the adverse situation that we are living right now.
